Who Was John A. Burr?
Okay so how would our front lawns, landscapes, farms, buildings look if it weren't for a machine to help us cut rapidly growing grass, weeds etc. Thanks to John A. Burr and his invention of one of the first rotary blade lawnmowers in 1899. John was born in Maryland to former slave parents who were freed after the Civil War. Throughout his life years, he held over 30 U.S. patents for lawn care and agricultural inventions. Unlike many black inventors, John received recognition and royalties for his creations. Thank Goodness! and Thank you John for making our lives easier.
